About Me

Hello There! I’m Timo Gerhard Link to heading

Welcome to my corner of the internet! I’m Timo, and I created this space to to share insights and documentation around kubernetes, microserives, observability - all around my homelab (which can be translated to the real world as well ;))

My Journey So Far Link to heading

I’ve always been fascinated by Kubernetes. My journey into the world of tech started few years back when Kubernetes was very unpopular - you might say it was still Borg. Since then, I’ve been helping people to structure and advance into a future proof architecture using Kubernetes, Microservices and the right Observability tool - Grafana.

What Drives Me Link to heading

I believe in the power of hands-on learning and transparent sharing. In the rapidly evolving landscape of cloud-native technologies, continuous learning and experimentation are key. My goal with this site is to demystify complex concepts in Kubernetes, microservices, and observability, providing practical insights and battle-tested solutions directly from my homelab experiments. I aim to build a resource where fellow enthusiasts and professionals can find valuable information to apply in their own projects, whether for a personal homelab or enterprise-level deployments.

What You’ll Find Here Link to heading

This site is a blend of practical guides, architectural insights, and real-world examples. You can expect:

  • Kubernetes Deep Dives: From setting up clusters to managing deployments and services.
  • Microservices Patterns: Exploring design principles and implementation strategies.
  • Observability with Grafana: Dashboards, alerts, and best practices for monitoring your systems.
  • Homelab Adventures: Documenting my setup, challenges, and successes that translate to broader use cases.
  • Troubleshooting Tips: Solutions to common problems I’ve encountered.
